Navarra and the Basque Coast
The walled city of Pamplona, best known for its popular Fiesta de San Fermín, is the culture heart of the ancient Kingdom of Navarra, a kingdom that once covered much of southwest France and northern Spain, including La Rioja, País Vasco, Aragon, parts of Cantabria and Castilla y León, and is now a gastronomic destination on a par with Donostia and Bilbao. You will experience the wine, cuisine and culture of the Navarran Pyrenees as you explore this inland kingdom before continuing on to 19th-century resort city of Biarritz and the lively port city of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, two stars of the Côte Basque. Next you will visit San Sebastian-Donostia, one of Spain’s most beautiful destinations, the pearl of the Cantabrian Sea. Next you will visit Gernika-Lumo, the center of Basque culture and history and the inspiration for Picasso’s controversial masterpiece “Guernica”. Following a visit to the Peace Museum and lunch, you will continue to Bilbao, one of Spain’s most dynamic cities whose transformation since the arrival of Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim Museum, has been nothing less than spectacular.
Barcelona to Bilbao
The adventure begins in Barcelona where you will spend the first four days exploring Spain’s most cosmopolitan city, rich in history and filled with beautiful works of art and world famous architecture. One the 5th day you will travel to Pamplona by train for a pintxos tour and lunch in the historic quarter before transferring to your hotel facing La Concha Beach in San Sebastian-Donostia on the Basque coast. On the 8th day you travel to Bilbao with a stop in Gernika-Lumo, the center of Basque culture and history, and the inspiration for Picasso’s controversial masterpiece “Guernica”.
Bilbao to Bordeaux
The adventure begins in Bilbao with a visit to the Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim Museum, with sparked the revitalization of the Basque Country, followed by three nights in the compact, elegant, sophisticated and stately coastal resort of San Sebastián-Donostia , a city filled with Belle Époque architecture and considered one of Spain’s most beautiful destinations, the pearl of the Cantabrian Sea. Less than an hour up the coast are two more stars of the Côte Basque, the charming and lively port city of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, once home to the Corsairs and French Buccaneers, the Basque pirates of lore, and the elegant, stately and once very staid 19th-century gambling, golf, spa and international resort of Biarritz, the crown jewel of the Basque Coast. You'll end your adventure with two nights in the French wine capital of Bordeaux.

Discover Portugal
Beginning with five days in the historic city of Lisbon, one of Europe’s most popular destinations, you'll enjoy the springlike temperatures during the winter months and its cool summers. After exploring the city and visiting the World Heritage Sites of Evora, Sintra and the popular fishing village of Cascais, you will venture north on the Alta Pendicular, the high-speed train, to Porto, one the most ancient cities in Europe. Using Porto as a base, you will be able to explore northern Portugal, including day trips to Braga, Guimaraes, Ponte de Lima, A Guarda, Coimbra, and the Douro River Valley for port tastings and lunch at Restaurant DOC in Flogosa.
Lisbon, Évora and Cascais
Arriving in Lisbon, where you will spend the first three nights before headed east to spend the next four days exploring the wine region of the Alentejo, a land of endless horizons and immense estates, dotted with vineyards and covered with undulating wheat fields, olive groves and cork forests. Following this, you will head back to the coastal village of Cascais to use as a base to visit Sintra and the coast from Farol do Cabo Raso to the winter surfing capital of Nazaré.
Porto and the Alto Douro
You will spend the first four nights in Portugal's historic port city before venturing up the Douro River Valley to Paso da Régua and Pinhão to begin your adventure.
